NEw Moon, GAlactic Center Alignment, Solstice Imagine with me the orbit of the earth and the planets around the sun. Imagine you are sitting in a ship high above the solar system, and you could see this dance and flow of planets around the sun. Then zoom your view back and up from there, and see that our sun and solar system is but one fleck of light in a sea of stars that form our Milky Way Galaxy. From our vantage point here on earth, the sun, moon and stars appear to move on a black dome above us on the sky. Scientist call this visual dome the celestial sphere. Just imagine you were in a planetarium with a domed roof. The celestial sphere is divided into sections, like the longitude and latitude lines we use on earth. Because of how the earth is tipped on its axis, the movements of the bodies in our solar system (sun, moon, planets) appear to move on a certain path. This path is called the celestial equator. We divide the 360 degree circle into 12 sections or pie shaped wedges, and each section is home to one of the zodiac signs. The sun moves along this travel path, as seen by us earthlings. We are familiar with this from astrology - as in, what’s your sign, are you a Virgo or a Capricorn? That question asks and answers, where was the sun on this celestial equator pathway the moment you were born? Drawing information and inspiration from Astrology is fascinating to many of us. Have you wondered how and why this information rings true for us so often? When you read the description of a Leo as a sun sign for friends born in August, why does this resonate? In simple terms, this is because of the gravity and magnetic forces of the celestial spheres and bodies (sun, planets, moon) on the earth on your birth day. There is also another important piece, the light codes, the light shining on earth from these bodies, and the geometrical patterns they create from their placements in relation to each other and the earth. Astronomical alignments are significant on many levels. We here in December are in an active period of significant alignments. These alignments offer unique opportunities to receive certain light codes and bundles of photons and information. We tune our sensitivity to be able to receive these codes and hear the messages coming our way from the stars. We have been at this task of fine tuning awareness and training for years and many of us for lifetimes. I have been called again and again to pay close attention to this current alignment to the center of the galaxy. Going back to the celestial sphere, we can map the movements of all of the visible universe on this imaginary dome. Our Milky Way Galaxy, the swirling streams of stars emanating from the core show up on this sphere. You may have seen this stellar stream yourself in the rural night sky. We also map the location of the center/core of the galaxy here too. The Center of the Milky Way sits at 26 – 27 degrees of the constellation Sagittarius, one of the zodiac constellations that live along the celestial equator. This week, we have multiple astronomical alignments here in Sagittarius. The New Moon on December 18 is in Sag and is exact at 1:30 am EST. The Sun moves into a direct alignment with the Center of the Galaxy at 2:57 pm EST on December 18. And then we have the Solstice on December 21 at 11:27 am EST. We also have influences of Mercury and Saturn here in Sagittarius during this time. So, what does any of this mean for you, as an aware sensitive being residing here on planet earth? Why is any of this important? How can you harness or work with this knowledge? It shows itself to me as vital and important to connect with the source of all life and light – the birthplace of our sun – the core of the galaxy. This core galactic center is an emanation of the core/center/creation point of the universe. It is an energy well we can each connect to both as a “refueling station” for the life-force energy in the body and as a source of light and information, inspiration. And then use these codes, this info to spark our own inner creator self. Take some time to sit quietly with yourself and listen. Make a connection to your personal embodied core (your soul center, your solar plexus). Make a connection to the crystalline core of the earth. Make a connection to the sun. Create a column of light connecting these cores and sit or stand within it. Then connect to the core of the Milky Way. The light that streams from this core, flows out of the spiral arms of the galaxy, and is rebroadcast through every star that lives in that arm of the galaxy, including our sun. Our sun gets its light and energy from the core of the galaxy. We enter right now an alignment where to us here on earth it appears that the new moon, the sun, and the center of the galaxy are all at the same point on the dome above us, the celestial sphere. In this alignment we get an amplification and multiplication of the message, the signal strength increases and we get to hear more clearly the light encoded messages of connection, light and life – the song of the universe. So in this alignment we get a “double dose” of light and energy – from both the sun and the galactic core. I plan to gift myself with some time in quiet, in receptive mode. Under the night time sky. Watching the stars. Under the daytime sky, watching the clouds. At sunset and sunrise, watching the colors and listening to the messages. Let’s do it, and then compare notes later. Do you see what I see? Do you hear what I hear? Love and Light, Julie This very sacred and moving song was written by Gloria Shayne Baker and Noël Regney in 1962. It is a very sacred song, and it has been inspiring me and my spiritual path this season, so I want to share this version with you. Much gratitude to these amazing artists and musicians for birthing this song into the world. TO read more about it, click this link.
