I got a first personal hand sign that the Cosmic Mother-Divine Mother-Universal Mother was going to be an important aspect of this moon cycle when I “happened upon” the moon rising over the ocean at this lady of light vista.  That Full Moon of October 9 has ebbed into the New/Dark Moon cycle, culminating on October 25.  While watching the full moon rise, the eclipse energy was very palpable.

Venus and the Power of 8: Seed of Life
Many ancient cultures were amazed by the dance of Venus in the morning and evening skies.  This dance served as a calendar.  The predictable lengths of days and the cyclic nature of the patterns provided a glimpse into the interconnectedness of all life.  These primal forces of nature were revered or “worshiped” most of all as a direct insight into the deeper meaning and codes of life.
Venus is an inferior planet – meaning its orbit is within the earth’s orbit, closer to the sun.  This position makes Venus dance with the sun as it moves across our sky, and flips between a position of being a Morning Star and Evening Star.  
We are now at a turning point of one of these cycle rhythms this week.  Venus makes a superior conjunction with the Sun on October 22, 2022 (and parts of globe on Oct 23).
Venus slipped out of the morning sky in early September and has been lost from our view in the glare of the sun since.  A planetary conjunction occurs when two celestial bodies station at the same spot in our sky. Before and after this exact conjunction is a window of moving into and out of that sky spot.  Venus is at its farthest from earth on the other side of the sun, so this conjunction is called superior, as in the sun will be in between us and Venus during our current cycle moment.

Venus Dances in Cycles of Eight
Venus is encoded with the number EIGHT. We will explore two primary codes of 8 here,
the Venus Eight Year Orbital Cycle and the Eight Pointed Star.

Venus Eight Year Orbital Cycle
As Venus dances within the solar system, do-sey doe-ing around planet partners, like Earth and Sun, it traces patterns and forms geometries. 
One of Venus’s dance move orbits is around the sun in a cycle that completes in eight years. This is a super fun rich topic to explore, may this introduction here spark you to explore this further.  ​

 Eight Pointed Star
Another way that 8 is encoded with Venus is the Eight-Pointed Star.  Depicted in imagery in ancient artworks, we see Inanna & Ishtar with this symbol.  This Symbol, this geometry shows up across cultures and ages – as a compass rose, in many stone carvings and artworks.  

Morning Star “Gives Birth” to Evening Star
A Venus Cycle begins with Venus as a prominent evening star.  It begins a period of retrograde motion that lasts for about 40 days, the midpoint a conjunction with the sun.  It sets closer and closer to sunset until it joins the sun in the sky and becomes invisible to us for a period of 8 days.  During this transformative 8 days in the dark primal creation field of the underworld, Venus makes a shift from evening to morning star.  When seen again on the eastern horizon at dawn, she is rebirthed as The Cosmic Divine Mother aspect. For 9 months Venus rises before the Sun in her morning star phase. During this part of the cycle, we can consider her in Dawn Star Mother Mode.  Gestating Life within. Note that the length of time of this phase of the Venus cycle correlates to the length of time of human gestation.  In the process, you may become “impregnated” with new visions and giving you a chance to bring them to life and to light!

Venus has been a morning star this year since it emerged from its inferior solar conjunction on January 8/9. Venus was visible again in mid/late January.  If you gaze back at December and January, what has slowly grown in your creation space? Have you birthed new projects, new relationships, new ways of being within?

​MERKABAH – MULTIDIMENSIONAL EIGHT POINTED STAR
Point your attention to this EIGHT POINTED STAR 
Here it sits flat on the page, the eight points plotted on the paper surface.
If you allow this star to expand up out of the page into three dimensions – watch it form into an eight pointed star, also called the Star Tetrahedron.  One of the platonic solids, and an impactful sacred geometry.  These two interlocking tetrahedrons overlap and merge and crystalize into eight points of light.

​This geometry is also known as the 
MERKABA ~which has eight points~ and the 
SEED OF LIFE ~ which is the stage of the Human Embryo with 8 cells.  
During the conception, once sperm has met egg, and the cells merge and start to divide, we have two, then four and then eight.  This point of eight cells is said to be the Soul Flash point, when the Merkabah (mer = soul, ka = light, bah = body).  You become YOU at this moment. And what you are in this moment, cellularly, is a star. 
A light being in the form of Platonic solid.  A Seed of Life.

Descent into the Underworld ~ Inanna, Ishtar, Venus
Ancient Sky watchers closely observed the movement of stars - points of light in the sky.  The original screen is the night sky.  The star show is brilliant!  Venus being one of the brightest visible sky lights garnered much attention.  It also did some shapeshifting – sometimes visible in the night sky, and sometimes before dawn in the morning sky.  
Observing this Venus star disappear from the morning twilight sky and then reappear just after sunset in the evening sky was a spectacular celestial event.  
For skywatchers, Venus gets lower and lower in the morning sky until it is no longer visible as a Dawn Star. It then disappears for a time, to reappear in the evening sky just after sunset.  Venus rise time gets later and later until it is visible in the evening sky well past sunset, reaching an eventual high point. And then the process would reverse itself and night by night, it sets lower and lower during sunset, until one day you cannot see it.  It has rejoined the sun.  Several weeks later, the silver light of a new “dawn star” appears.  As if from nowhere.  A birth of LiGHT.  And it cycles again.  Each morning it rises higher and higher, reaching an apex nighttime position and then many months later it reverses course, until it sets closer and closer to sunrise.  And once again “joins the sun” and becomes invisible to us folks on earth. And, whala – about 40 days later, a new light, a new star in the evening appears.
In our current cycle, the last time Venus was visible as a morning star was late August-early September 2022 – depending on where on earth you are longitudinally.  We are in the “invisible Venus” window now – until Venus emerges in the dawn sky at the end of November.  We can start to look for Venus again around November 22, and by November 28 (at my latitude) it should be clearly visible – with a clear eastern horizon view.
This Venus Cycle transformation sparked many myths to explain this mysterious and captivating celestial activity. Venus disappearing from view was equated with a Descent Into The Underworld.  The planet becoming visible in the morning or evening sky was equated with a rebirth, a resurrection, a renewal.
In ancient Mesopotamia myths and tales of the Goddesses Inanna (in Sumeria) and Ishtar (of Babylon) were crafted to explain and explore this celestial transformation.  Venus disappearing from view was equated with a descent into the Underworld.  In the myths, the goddesses would face grave danger, confront demons, overcome obstacles and emerge with many gifts and lessons, and a renewed sense of self.  In some tales she was killed and resurrected, reborn again.
The Underworld symbolizes the deep inner recesses of your being.  Diving into the Underworld takes you deep into your own darkness.  Darkness is the fabric of creation, from which all light and life emerge.  It is primal, so when we consider our personal inner space underworld, we consider the fields of body and heart and mind. This inner space can get “cluttered” with physical, emotion and mental debris.  When you are busy busy and on the go, you can ignore the inner clutter.  When you are quiet and reflective, free of distraction this “debris” hits you with full force.  Allowing yourself to go fully into this process is made possible, knowing that these ladies of light have gone before us.  In each tale, she emerges victorious.  So too can YOU!  These tales are meant to give you hope and fortitude when things get intense.

October 2022 and The Current Underworld Trio
You may be feeling a stronger than usual pull to your transformative underworld cycle. 
Seasonal Shifts + Venus Cycle + Eclipse = Underworld Trio
In my corner of the globe, mother nature is a huge factor in this turning inward at this time of year.  The days get shorter and shorter, and colder and colder.  The leaves fall, the trees become bare.  The air is crisp and biting.  All this is a natural time to turn inward.  It goes perfectly along with the Halloween/All Souls Day thin veils we celebrate during the end of October and first few days of November. Seasonal Shifts.
We precede the annual seasonal inward cycle this year with a Venus Cycle and descent into the inner planetary darkness culminating this weekend, October 22/23.  Venus  is “in the underworld” – invisible to us and within the glare of the Sun. 
We begin next week with a (partial) Solar Eclipse on Monday October 25.  The solar eclipse is also an influence of introspection and retrospection, and eclipses generally produce conditions for inner renovation.

Honor this time.  If you need more rest, take it.  If you need more quiet time, find it.
Time in nature under the trees, under the sky gazing at the stars, anything that connects you to the natural rhythms of this time of year will help.  Spend time with the sun and that ancient remembrance of the introspection and inner work with your personal body/heart/mind underworld.

Inanna/Ishtar’s Descent into the Underworld
What can we learn from Inanna & Ishtar to assist us on our own personal journey?
Inanna was considered a celestial deity. She was believed to be the offspring of the sky god, An or Anu. Being the daughter of the god of the sky, she’s often associated with thunder, storms, and rain, and was depicted as a lion roaring thunderbolts. From this connection, the goddess was also connected to great power in war.  She was also commonly associated with the planet Venus.
Ishtar is the goddess of love, desire, beauty, sex, fertility, and war, political power, and justice. 

“The Sumerians knew as early as 5,000 years ago that the morning and evening stars were one object in the night sky. They saw Venus as their goddess Inanna, who was also known as Ishtar by the later Babylonians. Inanna was a goddess of love and war and ruled over birth and death. In one myth called Inanna’s Descent into the Underworld, the goddess descends into the netherworld where she is killed, then resurrects three days later to return to the heavens. This myth reminded the ancient Sumerians of the movements of Venus and its disappearance from the sky from time to time.”

The Cosmic Star of Venus made itself known to me during our last Venus Sun Conjunction in January 2022.  It was the “gift” that I emerged with during the January 8/9 2022 Venus Underworld descent.  I kept getting the strong inner feeling that the Rainbow Rays were associated with Venus.  When I resurfaced and researched into this I came upon about the Star of Inanna, The Star of Ishtar, The Cosmic Star of Venus.  It is amazing, and I have been playing with it all year here at Inner Space and I am excited to be able to share it with all of you.  We will explore the Light Body Technology of this Cosmic Star of Venus together in depth.  It is powerful! Venus Becomes Evening Star ~ The Heavenly Fire of Xolotl
Folks who live in my region all experienced the incoming roar of Xolotl last night! We had an intense storm front move through, with torrential rains, and thunder that shook the ground and extreme lightning flashes.
In Aztec mythology, Xolotl was a god of fire and lightning, commonly depicted as a dog-headed man and was known as a soul-guide for the dead.  Xolotl is the canine brother and twin of Quetzalcoatl, the pair being sons of the virgin Chimalma. He is the dark personification of Venus, the evening star, and was associated with heavenly fire.
Xolotl is sometimes depicted carrying a torch in the surviving Maya codices, which reference the Maya tradition that the dog brought fire to mankind. He is the lightning beast, who darts from heaven with a torch in his hand and represents the lightning which descends from the thundercloud, the flash. Xolotl was in charge of escorting celestial beings (the Sun, the planet Venus) to the underworld and back, keeping them safe during the journey.
Xolotl came roaring in last night to remind us that Venus is in her deepest descent into the underworld this week. Planet Venus is Conjuncting our Sun on October 22, 2022. Thanks for the vivid reminder mother nature!  Round and round we go, diving DEEP now.  This upcoming week has so many astronomical events and celestial gateways – from this Venus conjunction to the powerful New Moon Solar Eclipse.  
We are 4 days before this conjunction now, and we can mark the descent and the emergence with an 8 day gateway. 
The next 8 days offer you a “death and rebirth” window for your own inner transformation.  Devote the rest of your week to releasing the old, the heavy, the inner burdens.   Recognize your old ways of being and habitual patters.  Let die the draining self-talk and unwanted thoughts. During this window, things will be bubbling up to the surface.  We are heavy into this energy already, so this process has been ongoing all September and October.  Know that we are at the nadir of that cycle, and the deep releases are available for you to access.
A Venus decent cycle alone is a process of deep diving and inner transformation.  We are taking it up a notch this week, as the Venus underworld transformation is being punctuated by a New Moon Solar Eclipse.  Talk about a deep dive!
If you are feeling it, know you are in good company, we are all deeply under this influence now.  Know to that the universe is conspiring for your greatness.  These opportunities are available for you to clear out the old.  To pass through the filter of the decent and to emerge in new light, as a new you.

​Today I am synthesizing my community offerings around our intense week we have coming up, with Venus Conjuncting the Sun on October 22 and the Eclipse (partial solar) just a few days later on October 25.
The last time Venus conjuncted the sun was January 8, 2022.  That conjunction transitioned Venus to a morning star.  And she has been shining brightly all spring and summer in the predawn skies.  This week Venus turn the corner on this cycle, and remains invisible to us until late November, when the planet emerges from the solar glare and once again shines in our evening sky.  
We will be offering a series of articles and videos and Inner Space Journeys to assist you as you flow into the deep waters of this transformative water fire. We will culminate with a group Journey on October 26.  There is so much to ponder with this transformation…I chose to break it into smaller shares, once for each of the next eight days, to offer it “bit by bit” so you can digest it as we go.
